Hugo Hill – Founder

Hugo has been operating in Africa for over a decade with business interests in Insurance, Oil and Gas servicing and project management. Hugo began his career in the insurance industry in London.

In 2014, Hugo transferred from London to South Africa as a specialist Client Advocate for Africa. In a broader role, Hugo helped build out a greater presence in Sub-Saharan Africa with a focus on special risk business (Oil And Gas/Power/Heavy Industry/Aviation/Construction).

Hugo has been based in Africa since 2014 and in 2017 founded TRM, a POan-African Insurance and risk management consultant in South Africa. Today, TRM’s client base includes oil and gas exploration companies, state power generation utilities and multi-national conglomerates. TRM handle more than USD100m of Gross Premium across the continent.

In addition to his interest in Insurance, Hugo also has an interest in Avixio Projects Limited, an Oil and Gas servicing company  in West Africa.

Dzingira Matenga – Founder

Dzingira is a Strategy and Implementation Consultant and Executive with 20 years consulting and industry experience specialising in strategic and enterprise performance management and improvement.

He has significant consulting experience in Country Strategy Building and the SADC Public Sector, Mining and Resources, Power Generation, Logistics, Retail, Travel & Transport, FMCG, IT and Retail Banking. Client experience includes: Eskom, BHP Billiton, Anglo-American, Transnet, DHA, Shoprite SA, Sony UK, Hitachi Data Systems, Welsh Assembly Government, Avis Europe, Vodafone, Wolverhampton City Council, and Sainsbury’s.

He also led the development of mines and greenfields projects (Mali, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe) for ERG Africa, a Kazakhstan company and is a member of Invest Africa, the premier closed investment club focused on African investments.

Dzingira has worked extensively across sub-Saharan Africa, Europe (UK, France, Holland, Greece, Republic of Ireland), America and Asia. During this time he has developed an extensive investor network as well as close working relationships with several decision makers at a government level.

Manuel Lamboley – Executive Director

Manuel is a financier with over 30 years’ experience in international broking and investment banking. He previously served as Head of the Geneva office of Williams de Broe and has held senior positions at Bank Julius Bar, Kidder Peabody, Paine Webber International and Prudential-Bache Securities.

Manuel has long-standing relationships with major investors and financial advisers worldwide, with a particular focus on the natural resources sector. He has been a non-executive director of several listed companies in the mining and energy sectors, including International Mining & Infrastructure Corporation plc, and was also previously an independent director of UK-based African Aura Resources Limited.

Gaetan Irrmann – Executive Director

Investment banker and entrepreneur in EMEA markets, with a passion for emerging technologies.

Unique combination of expertise in emerging technologies, healthcare and Mid-market M&A transactions in emerging countries.

Creative individual, always looking for innovative and unconventional ways to drive business, reach new markets and close deals.

Pro-active, takes full ownership and responsibility for the results. Can develop long term strategies and bridge them to concrete actions and results. Proven entrepreneurial mindset having founded and co-founded 3 companies and exited one, in very challenging environments.

Worked on a wide array of transactions and projects across continents (Europe, US and Africa) and industries and developed a unique ability to quickly grasp business models, operating weaknesses and potential improvements, gained in corporate boardrooms and off the beaten track.
